Meet Our Doctors

Timothy Koop, O.D.

Dr. Koop grew up in Jenison, Michigan. He studied Psychology at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan prior to attending Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Dr. Koop received his Bachelor of Science of Visual Sciences degree as well as his Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1996.

Dr. Koop has a deep interest in myopia progression and its effect on our younger population and directs our myopia control center. He also has advanced training in dry eye treatments.

Dr. Koop moved to Greensboro in 2000 and has been the owner of Vision Source Eye Center of the Triad since 2003. He lives in Greensboro with his wife, Angela and 2 children Carly and Sam. He is a die-hard University of Michigan fan as well as loyal Detroit Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings fan.

Angela Martinek, O.D.

Dr. Martinek grew up in Greensboro, NC, where she attended Grimsley High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from North Carolina State University in 1992. She attended Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago where she received her Doctor of Optometry and Bachelor of Science in Visual Sciences degrees in 1996.

Dr. Martinek moved to Greensboro in 2000 and has been in private practice since. She and her husband, Dr. Timothy Koop, own Vision Source Eye Center of the Triad.

Dr. Martinek lives in Greensboro with her husband Tim, and children Carly and Sam. She enjoys following sports, especially NC State football and basketball and is an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.

Angela Petracca, O.D.

Dr. Petracca grew up in upstate New York and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from SUNY Geneseo. She attended MCPHS University School of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry in 2017.

After graduating, Dr. Petracca worked in Minneapolis, MN before moving to Greensboro in 2019. She joined Vision Source Eye Center of the Triad in November 2020 and is currently accepting new patients at both the Greensboro and Oak Ridge locations.

Dr. Petracca lives in the Sedgefield community with her husband, Joel, daughter Sutton and their two dogs. She grew up watching hockey and is a new supporter of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Andrew Halton, O.D.

Andrew Halton O.D. graduated magna cum laude from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry with clinical honors and advanced studies in specialty contact lenses in 2021. Andrew is originally from Philadelphia and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Neuroscience. After completing optometry school, Andrew completed a 1-year post-graduate program at Rochester Regional Health|Reed Eye Associates in Rochester, NY focusing on ocular disease and medically necessary contact lens fittings. Andrew fits a variety of lenses, ranging from soft lenses to more advanced cases requiring gas permeable, hybrid, or scleral lenses. Andrew’s training provides knowledge and experience to help those with conditions like keratoconus, post-surgical ectasia, corneal scarring, high myopia, and irregular astigmatism.

Andrew is committed to providing compassionate care and comprehensive vision treatment to all patients in the community. Andrew sees every patient as an individual, offering personalized care in a warm, welcoming environment.

Andrew’s significant other, Dr. Sharon Guarino, and their dogs, Boots and Birks, have also moved from Raleigh to the Triad. They look forward to exploring, hiking, and enjoying all the outdoor adventures that the area has to offer.
