Dr. Angela Martinek is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for at every visit. As co-owner of Eye Center of The Triad, she has spent years building a practice centered around personalized care, advanced technology, and long-term relationships with local families. Patients appreciate her calm, approachable style and her commitment to making eye care feel thorough without ever feeling rushed.
Deep Roots in Greensboro and Eye Care
Dr. Martinek grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, and attended Grimsley High School before earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from North Carolina State University in 1992.
She later attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where she earned both her Doctor of Optometry degree and Bachelor of Science in Visual Sciences degree in 1996.
After returning to Greensboro in 2000, Dr. Martinek entered private practice alongside her husband, Dr. Timothy Koop. Together, they have continued to grow Eye Center of The Triad into a family-oriented, technology-forward practice serving patients throughout Oak Ridge and Greensboro.

Dr. Martinek enjoys helping patients and families protect their vision through every stage of life. She believes eye care should feel educational, supportive, and tailored to each patient’s needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Life Outside the Office
Outside the office, Dr. Martinek enjoys spending time with her husband, Tim, and their children, Carly and Sam. She also enjoys following sports and is a longtime fan of NC State football and basketball, as well as the Chicago Cubs.
Her strong ties to the Greensboro community continue to shape the relationships she builds with patients and families throughout the Triad area.
